School Services

Litchfield Middle School has a number of special services to assist students in developing the skills each individual needs to be a confident, responsible, and productive member of society.   In addition to a rigorous curriculum, special education services may be utilized to support the academic functioning of a student.  Special supports, such as personal counseling, may be offered to meet student needs.  The mission of SAU 27 is “to provide rigorous and varied educational opportunities that challenge and engage all students to attain their highest level of intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth.”

  • Counseling Services through each school’s Guidance Department (Middle School Guidance Dept.);
  • Psychological Services, including supportive counseling and special education assessment and intervention, through the district’s two school psychologists;
  • Social Work Services through the district social worker.
  • Title I Supplemental Educational Services Providers.
While some of the duties of these service providers overlap, each profession brings specialized skills and training to meet the needs of district students.  You are invited to contact your child’s school for more information.
